DNR Investigating Possible Illegal Hunting

The D-N-R is looking into some recent incidents involving illegal deer hunting.  The Journal Gazette says one of those incidents happened in DeKalb County early Sunday morning.  A report came in about someone spotlight hunting deer at around 1 AM.  Police stopped a pickup matching the suspect vehicle description and found two high-powered rifles and a spotlight along with an antlered deer carcass. The hunters could now face criminal charges for unlawful hunting. In another case, a 15-year-old boy admitted to shooting a deer in LaGrange County with a muzzleloader, which is illegal to use for deer hunting until December. 8th.
