Early Morning Fire at Twin Oaks Apartments

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne fire crews battled an early morning blaze at the Twin Oaks Apartments. The call came in just after 2:30 A.M. When crews first got to the scene, they found smoke coming out of a first-floor apartment and the roof. The fire spread to another 2nd floor apartment through an empty space, and there was water damage from a broken water line. 12 people were inside, but they all evacuated themselves. One person was treated at the scene for smoke-related injuries. Firefighters got the blaze under control in under a half hour. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. You may remember, the same apartment complex was the site of a fire in September of this year.
