Etna Green Fatal Crash

ETNA GREEN, Ind. (WOWO):  An accident in Etna Green has claimed the life of two people.

Kosciusko County Police are investigating a crash at U.S. 30 and State Road 19 between a semi-tractor/trailer and a pickup truck.  It happened at 3:14 p.m. and caused a chain-reaction crash that involved a third vehicle.

Officers with the Bourbon Police Department were the first to arrive and found the truck fully engulfed in flames.  One of the individuals was ejected from their vehicle.  Etna Green Firefighters tried to extinguish the truck, only to discover a second burned body inside.

The preliminary investigation reports a semi driven by 34 year old Adam J. King of Lima, Ohio was driving eastbound on U.S. 30 approaching the intersection of State Road 19 when he struck the rear-end of the pickup truck at a traffic light.  The truck was stopped for a red light at the time.  The force of the accident pushed the truck forward, hitting a gray GMC Sierra truck driven by 58 year old Larry L. Nelson from Dyer.

Nelson, his wife and King were uninjured.  The passengers of the burnt pickup truck have not been identified.  The Kosciusko County Coroner said that it may require the use of dental records.

The crash remains under investigation.
