Second Truck Facility Planned Near GM Plant

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): There's another truck hub planned near the GM plant in Lafayette Township.

People living near the plant have been protesting a proposed truck and rail transfer facility set to be built north of GM; now the Journal Gazette reports a Kansas City, MO company has bought 40-acres of land on the plant's south side to build their own facility that would ship vehicle components to the factory.

The company in question, NorthPoint Development, hasn't yet filed an official plan with the County; a spokesman says they'll do that soon.
