FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fire heavily damaged a home this morning on the city's south side.

Just after 6 a.m., crews were sent to a home Kenilworth Street. When they arrived, they found a smoke and flames coming from the front of the house.

Witnesses say two residents, including a child, were home at the time. They made it to safety before firefighters arrived.

The cause is still under investiation.
