KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (WOWO): A huge fire forced emergency crews to close most of the streets in downtown Kendallville this morning.

According to the Noble County Sheriff’s Department, the fire at the former McCray Refrigeration Company warehouse started before 2:45am. Six hours later it appeared crews had finally knocked the fire down.

A number of area fire departments were deployed to help deal with the blaze, as well as to spray nearby buildings with water to keep the fire from spreading.

It will take several hours to bring the blaze under control, and police have closed Main Street and the surrounding downtown streets north to Wayne Street to keep people away from the scene.
