Ford issues recall over seat belt fire hazard

NATIONWIDE (WOWO): Ford is recalling two million F-150 trucks.

It’s due to at least 17 reports of smoke or fire in the U.S. and another six in Canada, all related to seat belts.

The mechanism that locks your belt in place during a crash can generate sparks when deployed and are a fire risk, according to a company press release.

Impacted vehicles include model year 2015 through 2018 F-150s made in Michigan and Missouri.

If your truck is within those years, take it to a dealer for free repairs.
