Former Fort Wayne TV personality sentenced for sex with underage boy

DETROIT, Mich. (WOWO): A former Fort Wayne television personality will spend the next five-and-a-half years in prison.

45-year-old Charles Pugh worked in the Fort Wayne market in the early ’90s before moving to Detroit, where he eventually ended up president of the Detroit City Council.

Now he’s been sentenced on charges that he had sex with a 14-year-old boy in 2003.

As part of a plea deal, his time in prison was limited. Prosecutors say he sexually groomed four victims during a mentorship program for young men in Detroit, according to the Detroit Free Press.

He’ll also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, and receive counseling.
