Former Foundation Director Faces Federal Child Porn Charges

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The former executive director of an Indianapolis foundation faces federal charges of producing child pornography.

43-year-old Russell Taylor was charged Monday in U.S. District Court in Indianapolis with seven counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

An acquaintance of Taylor's first notified police when he asked her via text message if she wanted to see pictures of young girls.

Officials later found evidence of child pornography in Taylor's home.

Taylor led the Jared Foundation, which raises awareness and money to fight childhood obesity. Founder Jared Fogle has issued a statement saying he was shocked by the allegations and was severing all ties with Taylor.

Online records show Taylor is being held in the Marion County Jail.
