Former Lafayette Surgeon Escapes Home Detention

PERU, Ind. (AP) – Authorities say a former Lafayette surgeon convicted of stalking his ex-wife is on the run after he removed his tracking device and fled his in-home detention.

The Miami County Sheriff's Office says 49-year-old Gregory Konrath likely escaped his home by driving his silver 2013 Chevrolet Captiva on Tuesday night.

He was arrested in July after investigators say they discovered he had been plotting to kill his ex-wife.

Konrath pleaded guilty to two counts of stalking after charges of attempted murder were dropped. He was placed on in-home detention April 14.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call authorities.
