Former Woodburn Mayoral Candidate Contesting Election

WOODBURN, Ind. (WOWO): A Woodburn Mayoral candidate who lost to incumbent Richard Hoeppner in the May 5th primary is contesting the race.

Ryan Reichart says the integrity of the election was undermined. According to our partners in news at 21Alive, Reichart says he witnessed people, including elected officials, he says he knows are declared Republicans cast votes for Democrats at Woodburn Missionary Church.

Reichart lost by 12 votes to Hoeppner. There were no contested Republican primaries in Woodburn.

A hearing on Reichart's challenge against Hoeppner and the Allen County Election Board is set for June 3rd at Allen County Courthouse.
