Fort Wayne and Indianapolis Set Rainfall Records

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ The National Weather Service says the cities of Fort Wayne and Indianapolis both set records for rainfall in a day, with both cities receiving more than 2 inches of rain.
 
  The weather service reports that 2.32 inches of rain fell in Fort Wayne on Thursday, setting the record for the most rain ever to fall in the city on April 18. That broke the old mark of about an inch that fell on that date in 1978.
 
  The weather service says 2.29 inches fell in Indianapolis on Thursday, breaking the mark for that date of 1.27 inches that fell in 1887.
