Fort Wayne Apartment Manager Saves 5 Year Old Boy From Drowning

LAWRENCE, Ind. (WOWO): An apartment manager from Fort Wayne appears to have saved the life of a 5 year old that nearly drowned in an apartment pool in Lawrence.

James Mohr had just finished some maintenance work when he checked the pool to see if there was anybody in the area that had been closed off. He said he found a group of kids with one of them floating at the bottom in about 8ft of water.

At first he thought they were playing but then noticed the child wasn't moving. He jumped in the water and pulled the boy out, yelled for someone to call 9-11, and started rescue breathing.

When EMS arrived he was breathing and was crying for his mother. The boy was taken to Riley Hospital in stable condition.

Mohr doesn't normally work at the Maison Apartment here in Lawrence but was assigned there for a project by his company.
