Fort Wayne Dog Adoptions to Offer Dog Park Discounts

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): If you adopt a dog from Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control, you'll now get half off a membership to Fort Wayne's dog parks.

The Journal Gazette reports that anybody who adopts a dog from the shelter will get the discount for access to both Pawster Park and Camp Canine. A pass normally costs $40 a year; a spokeswoman for Animal Care and Control says it makes for a good incentive for people to adopt from the shelter rather than go to a pet store.

The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Board could end up expanding the deal to other rescue groups.
