Fort Wayne man identified as southeast side shooting victim

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The death of a southeast Fort Wayne man Monday afternoon has been ruled a homicide by a gunshot wound.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office made the ruling Tuesday afternoon in the death of 18-year-old Emmanuel Freeman.

He was found dead inside an apartment on Diplomat Drive near McMillen Park. The shooting happened around 4:45 p.m. Monday, according to police. A woman greeted officers in the parking lot and pointed to an apartment, where Freeman was found unresponsive inside.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s the 17th homicide in Fort Wayne this year.

Police are looking for the killer.
