Fort Wayne police investigating armed robbery at credit union

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Police are searching for suspects in an armed robbery at a Fort Wayne credit union Wednesday morning.

At about 8:17 a.m., two men approached an employee opening the Partners 1st Federal Credit Union at 6210 W. Jefferson Blvd., according to Fort Wayne Police spokesman Mike Joyner.

One of the men had a gun and forced the employee into the building. Then the suspects took cash from the drawers and left.

The men drove away in a grey Kia sedan. Police later found a sedan matching that description about a mile away at an apartment complex. Police believe the car was stolen, used as a getaway car and abandoned.

Police are currently viewing surveillance video of nearby businesses.

The employee was not harmed.
