Franklin Man Dies after Leaping from Back of Truck

FRANKLIN, Ind. (AP) _ Authorities in Indiana say a man has died after he jumped out of the back of a moving pickup truck.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Department tells WRTV-TV that the man was riding in the bed of a 1989 Dodge pickup truck Friday when he told the driver and a passenger in the cab he intended to jump.

The man's identity hasn't been released.

The other two men say they didn't see the man when they looked through the rear window, so they went looking for him and found him lying dead off the shoulder of a county road in the community about 20 miles south of Indianapolis.

Officers say they believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.
