Fuel spill hurting Decatur business

DECATUR, Ind. (WOWO): At least one Decatur business is suffering as a result of last week’s jet fuel spill.

A pipeline failed and spilled a little more than 8,000 gallons of jet fuel into the St. Marys River Friday. Since then, cleanup efforts have been underway, but it could take weeks.

That’s bad news for the Riverview Tap bar, where worker Gina Wenger tells our Partners in News at ABC 21 they were shut down from Friday night to Saturday evening:

“It was the first time in months that we were going to have live music and a local band. So it was really a day where we lost thousands of dollars.”

She adds that business has dropped off “significantly” since the spill.
