FW May Cut Internal Audit Department

The city of Fort Wayne is looking into making cuts in one of its departments whose specific job is to find fraud and waste.  The 140 million dollar 2013 budget is in need of some tweaking in order to save money, an article in this morning’s paper suggests one of the first things on the chopping block is the Internal Audit Department.  The annual budget for the department is a little better than 272 thousand dollars, and some councilmen have suggested no longer funding the department altogether.  It is something that is being considered.
