FWFD Responds to ‘Suspicious’ Fire at Vacant Home

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Police are investigating a suspicious house fire that happened early Monday morning near downtown Fort Wayne.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to the 1900 block of Roy Street around 2:15 a.m. to find flames coming from the first floor of a vacant home.

The home suffered substantial damage and after searching the area, crews determined no one was inside at the time of the fire.

The FWFD says the cause of the fire is suspicious in nature, and anyone with information should contact CrimeStoppers at 436-STOP or 1-800-237-STOP.

Police are also offering a cash reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest of a suspect.
