Girl Testifies as Fort Wayne Pastor’s Trial Opens

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP): A 10-year-old girl has testified in court against the man charged with repeatedly molesting her while he was pastor of a Fort Wayne church.

The girl testified Tuesday in the opening day of 51-year-old James Burton's trial on felony child molesting charges.

Burton is charged with molesting the girl while she was a foster child in his care between June 2009 and early 2012. He was pastor of Greater Faith Baptist Church when he was arrested last year.

The Journal Gazette reports the girl testified she liked living at Brown's home but that he repeatedly touched her on her “privates” and told her to take her clothes off.

Burton has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
