GOSHEN, Ind. (WOWO): Goshen High School is another step closer to officially choosing a new school nickname.

With the controversial Redskins moniker due to end by the start of the year, the Mascot Selection and Celebration Steering Committee has selected 15 semi-finalists out of nearly 100 submitted. They are:

Cardinals

Crimson Storm

Dragons

Firebirds

Gladiators

Greyhounds

Griffins

Grizzlies

Pride

Raptors

Red Devils

Redhawks

Spartans

Wolfpack

Goshen High School and Middle School students will vote on the names Thursday with the finalists announced Friday. Students, staff and Goshen High alumni will be able to take part in the final vote.
