GREENFIELD, Ind. (WOWO) — On Monday, December 15th, around 3 PM, Greenfield officers responded to the Prairie Meadows apartment complex after a report of a small child wandering outside alone, wearing only a diaper.

Officers found the toddler suffering from hypothermia and tracked the child’s footprints in the snow to an apartment on Switchgrass Drive with an open door.

Inside the apartment, officers found Logan Nickolas 20 asleep on a couch.

He identified the child as his.

Officers also observed suspected illegal drugs and paraphernalia in plain view.

The child was transported to an Indianapolis hospital in stable condition.

Logan Nickolas was arrested and faces preliminary felony charges of Neglect of a Dependent, including resulting in bodily injury.
