GREENWOOD, Ind. (AP) _ A Greenwood girl has raised more than $6,000 for a playground that children with special needs can enjoy.
 
Ten-year-old Payton Dillon says regular playgrounds aren't fun for children who can't climb ladders or stairs. She tells the Daily Journal she decided to raise money to help the city build an accessible playground at City Center Park.
 
The fifth-grader collected donations from residents and businesses this summer.
 
Her mother says Payton noticed what children around her can and can't do in part because of her own battle with a brain cyst that affects her balance and limits her activities.
 
The park will have swings for children who need back support and feature ramps and paths that allow wheelchairs to roll easily up to picnic tables and to playground games.
