INDIANAPOLIS (AP): An 18-year-old Indiana man accused of trying to travel overseas to join the Islamic State militant group has had his detention hearing moved for a second time.

Akram Musleh had faced a July 11 detention hearing in Indianapolis. But a federal magistrate postponed it Tuesday until Aug. 1 to avoid conflicting with his public defender’s planned vacation.

Prosecutors who allege Musleh intended to provide material support to the Islamic State terror group by joining it want him detained until he’s tried. They contend there’s “a serious risk” Musleh will flee, obstruct justice or attempt to obstruct justice.

Musleh remains in the U.S. Marshals’ custody.

The Brownsburg, Indiana, man’s detention hearing was previously moved to July 11 after his attorney sought more time to obtain records and prepare for the hearing.
