Hog Farm Withdraws Zoning Request

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): It’s the end of the line for a proposed huge hog farm in Steuben County at least for now.

The farm would have been home to nearly 5 thousand hogs. But now, a request to the county’s plan commission has been withdrawn.

The owners, K and D Contract Pork, were seeking an exemption that would have allowed the farm.

The property near Lake Gage in northwest Steuben sparked environmental concerns. No word if the farm would re-apply at a later date.
