Ind. Food Stamp Distribution Dates Being Changed

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Indiana's Family and Social Services Administration is changing when 900,000 residents receive their food stamps.

Recipients of the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program will have the money transferred to their cards on a different day as a result of state legislation passed this year. But the amount each recipient gets will stay the same.

FSSA officials plan to detail the new schedule Monday morning.

The new calendar will go into effect after a one-month transition period beginning in January.
