INDIANAPOLIS (AP): A southern Indiana city that's the epicenter of an HIV outbreak tied to intravenous drug use is getting an HIV clinic.</span>
The Los Angeles-based AIDS Healthcare Foundation will open the clinic in Austin within weeks in office space housing the city's only private doctor.
Most of the 150 people infected to date in the outbreak live in the Scott County city about 30 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky.
The clinic is a partnership with state and local officials and the foundation that claims to be one of the nation's largest nonprofit providers of HIV and AIDS medical care. The clinic eventually will include a pharmacy.
Foundation President Michael Weinstein says the clinic will provide free treatment to patients without health insurance. It will become the foundation's 44th U.S. HIV clinic.
