Indiana Lawmakers Consider Sunday Alcohol Sales

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): State lawmakers are looking to lift the Sunday alcohol ban in Indiana.

House Public Policy Chairman Tom Dermody of LaPorte hasn't decided whether to take action on a proposal that would end Indiana's longtime ban on Sunday alcohol sales at retail stores.

A bill was proposed by Republican Representative Sean Eberhart and Democrat Terri Austin, to allow the Sunday sales.

According to our Partners in News at 21Alive, Indiana is the only state to have a full ban on off-premises alcohol sales. The bill must first be approved by Dermody's commitee to move to the full house for consideration.
