INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ A southern Indiana man convicted of illegally harvesting deer has lost his hunting privileges for the rest of the year.

Matthew Faith of Milltown was sentenced Tuesday in Crawford County to a six-month hunting suspension and a suspended one-year jail sentence. He also was ordered to serve one year of probation and pay court costs.

Faith has been investigated for illegal hunting activity at least three times by officials with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

He was issued citations for taxidermy violations in early 2013, and then charged with illegally harvesting three antlered deer and providing false information to the agency later that year.

Faith was charged in December with illegally harvesting another deer and failing to properly tag it.
