INDIANAPOLIS (AP): A new website that educates Indiana residents about the state’s history and the importance of voting has gone online.

Secretary of State Connie Lawson says the web-based education program is designed to teach students, voters and teachers about Indiana and inspire them to be active participants in U.S. democracy.

After visiting the Connie’s Civics Corner site at IndianaCivics.com, users can then test their knowledge with a quiz on Indiana history. Lesson plans are available on the website for teachers.

The website includes voter resources on how to register to vote, how to be a poll worker and a tool for determining users’ elected officials.

Lawson says Hoosiers who learn at a young age about the importance of voting are more likely to vote as an adult.
