Indiana State Police believe driver fell asleep causing Steuben County crash

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A Cleveland, Ohio woman died after a single vehicle crash on the Indiana Toll Road Sunday afternoon.

The Steuben County Coroner’s Office pronounced Johnay R. Miller, 32, dead on Sunday, according to Indiana State Police. 

At about 4:25 p.m. Sunday, a 2001 GMC Yukon was going eastbound on the Indiana Toll Road near the 142 mile marker. The vehicle traveled from the left lane to the right lane, went off the south side of the road, hit a guardrail and rolled onto the drivers side.

Miller, a passenger, was ejected from the vehicle.

Police believe the driver of the Yukon may have fallen asleep at the wheel. The driver was hospitalized and is still in critical condition.

Four other passengers were hospitalized. Three of the passengers have been released. One is still in the hospital in stable condition.
