INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): Indiana High school, trade school and college students have a chance to earn up to $5,000 by using social media.

During April, which is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, Indiana State Police are asking students to post photos and videos to encourage their followers to “Drive Now. TXT L8R (text later).”

To participate, students should register their Twitter accounts on Indiana’s website and use the hashtag #TXTL8RIN, according to Indiana State Police.

Entries will be judged in four categories: high school most creative image, high school most creative video, post-secondary most creative image and post-secondary most creative video.

Individual winners will get $5,000. Teams up to four members will receive $2,500 for each member. The money will be deposited into their CollegeChoice 529 saving plans.

The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, Indiana Department of Labor, Indiana Department of Transportation and Indiana State Police are partnering for the contest.

To see last years winners, visit www.in.gov/dol/2894.htm. You can view this year’s entries as they roll in at @TXTL8R_IN.
