LAKE STATION, Ind. (AP) _ An Indiana teacher who wrote a threatening message on a chalkboard after having what students called a “meltdown” during class is the subject of investigations by police and school officials.
WLS in Chicago reports Lake Station police met Monday with students and officials at Edison Junior-Senior High School to discuss the message scrawled by the teacher last week.
It included the phrases “You are idiots,” “The guns are loaded” and “Care to try me?”
Supt. Dan DeHaven says the teacher wasn’t in school Monday and wouldn’t be back pending an internal investigation.
He says the teacher has worked at the school for about 28 years and has no disciplinary record.
Police will submit their report to prosecutors to determine whether charges are warranted.
