Indiana Tech School of Education denied accreditation

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Graduates of Indiana Tech’s School of Education after this academic year won’t be able to get their state teaching license.

That’s because the school’s bid for national accreditation was denied by the Council for the Accreditation of Education Preparation after their standards fell short in four different categories. The Journal Gazette reports the move won’t impact students graduating from the Fort Wayne college this year.

A university spokesman says the school is working with students to help them understand their options, and they hope to apply for state-level accreditation this fall.
