INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Indianapolis Police Chief Troy Riggs says he and Mayor Joe Hogsett are asking for the community’s help in identifying any threats toward law enforcement following shootings in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, that left three officers dead.

Riggs issued a statement to his department following the shootings Sunday, saying the two will “ensure that any threats are thoroughly investigated.”

He later said at a news conference his department is investigating a threat of violence made against law enforcement officers in central Indiana. He says the threat was made on social media in the past week.

The Baton Rouge shootings followed the slayings of five officers in Dallas on Thursday and the killing of a black man by white officers earlier this month after a scuffle at a Baton Rouge convenience store.
