INDOT asks residents keep roadways clear of campaign signs

(Saige Driver/WOWO Radio)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Campaign signs could be hazardous to drivers.

The Indiana Department of Transportation is asking political candidates and their supporters to keep roads free from encroaching campaign signs.

INDOT says signs can block visibility for traffic at intersections and driveways. Intersections, interchanges and right of way that run along the roadway should remain sign-free.

Local governments and INDOT are allowed to remove signs from public highways.
