INDOT Reports Slick Roads in Rural N. Indiana

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – The Indiana Department of Transportation warns drivers to be careful in northern areas of the state because of slick conditions caused by blocking snow, especially along rural roads.

INDOT reports blowing snow is causing problems in areas near Winamac, LaPorte, Michigan City, South Bend and Mishawaka. It says it has more than 75 crews out clearing roads.

The National Weather Service earlier canceled a winter weather advisory for northern Indiana, but said lake effect snow showers were expected to continue into the night with additional snowfall accumulations of an inch or less.
