CARMEL, Ind. (WOWO): Carmel-based ITT Technical Institute is closing its doors.

The company announced today that it’s ceasing all operations after a federal ruling by the U.S. Department of Education that blocked all federal student loan funding for the school. The school said it had to eliminate more than 8,000 employees.

There are two campuses in Indianapolis, with the company’s headquarters located in Carmel.

There’s also an ITT campus on Dupont Commerce Ct in Fort Wayne. A phone call to that office went straight to voicemail.
