BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) – Last week, No. 14 North Carolina lost to two-time national runner-up Butler. Tonight, the Tar Heels will try to avoid a second straight loss to a Hoosier State team – No. 1 Indiana. It’s not only the marquee matchup in this year’s ACC-Big Ten Challenge, it could be one of the biggest college matchups all season. The Tar Heels and Hoosiers are two of the most successful college basketball programs, combining for 10 national titles and 3,766 victories – the most notable result of the series being Indiana’s win in the 1981 national championship game.
The second biggest win for Indiana (6-0) over Carolina came two years ago when Cody Zeller chose his home-state school over North Carolina, a loss the Tar Heels (5-1) must contend with Tuesday night.
