Kendallville Couple Injured in Single Vehicle Crash

Noble County, IN-The Indiana State Police responded to and investigated a single vehicle crash this morning on State Road 8 near County Road 800 E that injured a couple from Kendallville.

According to Master Trooper Steven P. Malone, today at approximataly 8:15 a.m., a green 1999 Mitsubishi Montero driven by Tyler L. Mumma, 20 from Kendallville was traveling eastbound on State Road 8, west of County Road 800 E prior to the crash. Due to his vehicle’s speed, coupled with the snow and ice covered roadway, Mumma’s Montero slid and left the north side of the roadway where it crashed into and took down a utility pole owned by REMC.

Both Mumma and his wife, Sarah R. Mumma, 20 also of Kendallville were both wearing their seatbelts and suffered non-life threatening injuries. They were both transported to a hospital in Fort Wayne for treatment and the Montero was listed as a total loss.
