The city of New Haven has given preliminary approval to a set of tax breaks that would pave the way for FedEx to build a new distribution center there.  The $25 million dollar facility would be constructed on a vacant lot on Lincoln Highway East.  According to the Journal-Gazette, FedEx is asking for two five-year tax phase-ins that would add up to a combined $27 million dollars.  Construction at the site is set to begin on May 1st with a targeted completion date of  September 2014.
