Wawasee Schools Bus Driver Charged with Sexual Misconduct with a Minor

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A Wawasee Schools bus driver, who police say met a 15-year-old student through an online dating site, has been charged with sexual misconduct with a minor.

According to court documents, Jason Arnett of North Webster, who worked for Wawasee Community Schools, met the teenager through an Internet app for gay men. Police say Arnett admitted to police that he picked up the student at his home, back in mid-October, and drove him to Warsaw for milkshakes and then drove to a game preserve in Kosciusko County, where he and the student had relations.

Wawasee Superintendent Tom Edington says Arnett was suspended from his duties as a bus driver prior to Halloween and was fired on Tuesday after a vote from the Wawasee Community Schools board of trustees, citing that he had violated his contract.
