LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) _ Lafayette police say a woman rented a gun at a Lafayette shooting range and then fatally shot herself in the head.

Sgt. Mike Brown says the self-inflicted shooting occurred Saturday afternoon at the Applied Ballistics indoor range.

The Journal & Courier reports (http://on.jconline.com/1S4qCgX ) she was pronounced dead at a hospital. Her name wasn't immediately released.
