LaGrange County Man Admits to Being Owner of Meth

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A LaGrange County man was arrested Wednesday morning, after admitting to being the owner of some methamphetamine that was located by police.


Officers say 53-year-old Jerry Shears was the passenger in a pickup that was parked on State Road 9 in LaGrange County. Police asked to do a an inspection of the truck after smelling an odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.


After consent to search the pickup, officers found a baggy containing a white crystal like substance, believed to be methamphetamine, in the glove box of the pickup. Shears later admitted that the meth belonged to him.
