Lake County Man with Shotgun Fatally Shot by Indiana Police

LAKE STATION, Ind. (AP) _ A police spokesman says a man armed with a shotgun was fatally shot by three Lake Station police officers after he aimed the weapon at them in the parking lot of City Hall in the northwestern Indiana community. 
 
Lake County Major Crimes Task Force Bob Byrd tells The Times of Munster police were called to the City Hall about 10:30 a.m. CST Tuesday on a report of a man with a gun. Byrd says the man fired the shotgun when the officers arrived and then turned toward the officers. 
 
Byrd says the three officers then fired at the man, killing him. 
 
Byrd says about 20 detectives from departments around the region and Indiana State Police are investigating the shooting.
