Late-Night Crash Leaves One Dead in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, IND. (WOWO) Fort Wayne Police are investigating a fatal crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of Anthony Boulevard and Gardendale Avenue. Officers, medics, and firefighters were called to the scene around 9:57 p.m. Thursday, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.

Police say two vehicles collided at the intersection, with two occupants in each vehicle. Investigators report that one vehicle was traveling northbound on Anthony Boulevard while the other was traveling southbound and attempted to turn onto Gardendale Avenue.

All four occupants were injured and transported to a local hospital. Police say one of the injured victims was a minor under the age of 18 who was listed in life-threatening condition and later died at the hospital.

The Fort Wayne Police Fatal Accident Crash Team was requested to assist with the investigation and is reconstructing the crash to determine contributing factors. The Allen County Coroner’s Office and FWPD Air Support Unit are also assisting with the investigation.
