LANSING, Mich. (AP) – Indiana Gov. Eric J. Holcomb has toured flood-ravaged parts of northern Indiana.
Holcomb posted on his Twitter account he saw “heavy flood damage in downtown Goshen” on Friday but was encouraged by the number of volunteers “coming to help fellow Hoosiers.”

He also met with South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg and other local leaders for a briefing on the regional flood impact and response.

Record-high flooding along the St. Joseph River closed down a wastewater treatment plant for several hours in South Bend, a city of about 100,000 residents before it restarted Thursday at limited capacity. The National Weather Service reported the river was expected to stay above its major flood stage until Tuesday.
