Local Officials Respond to President Obama’s National Address on ISIS

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): President Obama addressed the nation last night to outline his plan to destroy militants from the group Islamic State. Obama says he's authorizing U.S. airstrikes inside Syria for the first time, along with expanded strikes in Iraq.

U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman responded to the president's comments, saying “we can't do this alone,” and that ISIS will “only continue to threaten the United States and our allies so long as they exist”.

Senator Dan Coats felt the address was a “welcome reversal to his previous comments on foreign policy”.
