Eight area seniors have been honored by Comcast and Mayor Tom Henry.

The Leaders and Achievers Program awards scholarships to seniors for their community service, leadership and success in the classroom.

They'll each receive, one-time, college scholarships for $1,000.

Only 55 Indiana seniors receive the recognition. Receiptants are nominated by their high school principal or guidance counselors.
